CAP Network Workshop "Detecting the future: practical applications for farmers and advisors on near and remote sensing"

This workshop, organized within the framework of CAP innovation activities, knowledge sharing, and the AEI-Agri initiative, will consider the social, technological, and economic dimensions of near and far remote sensing. The workshop will move beyond policy discussions and focus directly on real-world applications, integration, and future development of sensor technologies at the agricultural level, creating a space where farmers' concerns are taken into account during discussions. The aim is to strengthen confidence and empower farmers, foresters, and advisors, not only with actionable technical knowledge, but also by understanding the economic viability, their rights, their needs, and a broader sense of the social impact of digitalization. In doing so, the workshop will also contribute to the CAP's cross-cutting objectives: modernizing agriculture through improved access to research and training. The workshop will draw on experiences gained in the AEI-Agri operational groups, Horizon projects, and other relevant initiatives, in order to promote wider adoption of European remote sensing technologies. Main target groups The workshop will bring together approximately 85 participants from across the EU, representing a diverse mix of stakeholders relevant to the workshop topic. Participants include: Innovative farmers, foresters, farm managers and agricultural contractors from the agricultural, horticultural, fruit, livestock and forestry sectors. Agricultural advisors , both public and private. Members of the EIP-AGRI operational groups and Horizon projects working in precision agriculture and digital agriculture. Representatives of technology and data service providers. Applied researchers from agricultural institutes and universities, focused on agricultural technology and socioeconomics. Representatives of national CAP networks and farmers' associations.
